Basic Computer Diagnostic

  1. Identify the real problem
  2. Verify everything yourself
  3. Ask dump questions
  4. Restart the computer
  1. Is it hardware, software, or network?
  2. If hardware, what component
  3. Read the manual and use the internet
  4. Only make one change at a time, then retest. If it didn’t fix it, put it back
  5. Ask for help – other techs or product support
  6. Document the results so that you or others, don’t have to go through this again

***Before making any changes, be sure if you already did the backup.
