Connect Ubuntu to Windows Share Network

How to get Ubuntu to access Windows Network Share

  1. In Ubuntu, click Places, Connect to Server. Change the Service type to “Windows Share”. Type the IP Address of the NAS device into the “Server” field. Type the name of the Windows share into the “Share” field. If you want to link to a subfolder, type its name into “Folder”.
  2. Click the “Add bookmark” checkbox and give the bookmark a name
  3. Click Connect and, hopefully, you’ll see an icon appear on your desktop and a new entry under the Places
